About online coaching
Online coaching works well if you would like time to ask questions, review your images, understand your camera better or talk through a particular challenge in your photography.
The session is not a lecture. It is a conversation built around what you want to improve. We can keep things simple and practical, or look in more detail at specific areas such as exposure, autofocus, shutter speed, composition, editing or planning for a particular subject.
The aim is to help you leave the session with clearer next steps and more confidence in what to practise next.
What we can cover
Each session is tailored to you, but topics may include:
Camera settings for wildlife photography
Exposure, shutter speed, aperture and ISO
Autofocus modes and tracking
Reviewing your images and identifying areas to improve
Composition and positioning
Basic Lightroom editing guidance
File organisation and workflow
Planning for future shoots, subjects or trips
Advice on lenses, kit and practical fieldcraft
The exact content will depend on your experience level, the images or questions you bring to the session, and what you would most like help with.
Who is this for
Online coaching is suitable for beginner and improving wildlife photographers who would like practical, friendly guidance.
You do not need to be an expert. The session can be shaped around your current level, whether you are trying to understand your camera, improve your keeper rate, prepare for a workshop or get more from the images you already have.
You will get the most from the session if you use a DSLR or mirrorless camera, but you are welcome to ask before booking if you are unsure whether online coaching is right for you.
Good to know
Format: Sessions are held online by Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Images: If you would like to review your photographs, I will ask you to send a small selection in advance so that we can use the session time well.
Camera setup: We can talk through camera settings, autofocus options and exposure choices, but I may not be able to see or control your camera remotely. It helps if you have your camera and manual available during the session.

Follow-up: I will provide short follow-up notes or recommendations where helpful.
Session blocks: Booking two or three sessions can work well if you would like to review progress, practise between sessions or work through several areas in a more structured way.
